Me and my buddy Tom did an acoustic Basement cover with an off screen appearance from the neighbors cat.
Anonymous asked: Better, but ultimately meaningless music legal thing this week: a former guitarist of Emmure is threatening to sue the band for writing a song called "Bring a Gun to School". Thoughts?
Any zerson who hates a band based on a song title is my enemy.
I would defend any song title, ever. Could just be a string of triggering word salad meant to offend, and I’d defend it because fuck a monster who would tell someone else what’s ‘acceptable.’
I understand that’s not a universal approach to art. However, in this case, any thinking adult would defend Emmure. BECAUSE WE DON’T KNOW THE CONTENT OF THE SONG. We all assume it’s bad because cavemanery is this band’s shtick. If this was Jello Biafra, we’d all assume it was ironic, and there’d be no foul here. But assumptions are not fair, and even the individual who needs art be antiseptic can admit that context is needed before an attack can be mounted.
This guitarist needs to cut back on the nubcakes.
